It is rarer to see Ashish Nehra near and around the media, and it is certainly impossible to locate him on social media. The India pacer Ashish Nehra is not on any of the social media sites and it seems he doesn’t really care about it. Ashish Nehra on Tuesday, was trolled for his comments that he is still ‘using his old phone’ and doesn’t have social media accounts like Facebook and Twitter.
A Reporters asked Ashish Nehra about the social media rivalry between India and Bangladesh ahead of their ICC World Twenty20 match and Ashish Nehra very coolly replied :
“You are asking this question to a wrong person because I am somebody who is not on social media. I am still using my old Nokia so I am not on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. I don’t read newspapers. Maybe I belong to the old school of thought”
Hearing his reply, the people present at the press conference also started laughing. No sooner Nehra made these comments and people began to troll him on Twitter for using an old phone. Later, the BCCI requested former India opener Virender Sehwag, who is also a close friend of Nehra, if he can ask the bowler to join social media. Sehwag also tweeted his reply saying he will try his best.
@BCCI I will try my best .
