India’s biggest pizza chain, Domino’s will go all veg on the occasion of Navratri for nine days, starting October 1. Around 500 Domino’s Pizza outlets across India will only serve vegetarian food during Navratri and not only that Domino’s have also decided not use onions, garlic and even wheat. The menu will also have Sabudana starters.
About 500 Domino’s outlets across north and central and western India will stop serving non-vegetarian food, It is the first time a western-style quick service restaurant (QSR) is converting to a Navratri menu on such a large scale. Domino’s has served vegetarian-only food before also during Navratri, but these practice was in was in only select stores but this time they have come up with 500 outlets following the same exercise as lots of people avoid food joints that serve both veg and non-veg options during those nine days.
Dev Amritesh, the company’s India president, told ET that the consumption of meat reduces significantly during this time.
